ASSESSMENT GUIDE
Buffer and Postiz: check the social accounts first
Postiz can be a candidate for planning and scheduling social content on infrastructure you control. Its usefulness depends on the exact networks, account types and publishing actions your team needs.
When to explore it
Your team wants a shared publishing workflow and is willing to maintain the application and platform connections. Start with one account and one representative type of post.
When keeping the current tool may make sense
A managed service may remain the better choice when support, approvals, reporting or dependable access to a specific platform are the main reason you pay. Running the software does not bypass network rules.
Costs that belong in the comparison
Compare your actual paid channels and plan with application hosting, storage, maintenance, any AI services and the effort of configuring platform access. Self-hosting does not remove API restrictions or the need to reauthorize connections.
What to verify before a move
- List networks and distinguish personal, creator, business and organization accounts.
- Test the required media formats, scheduling behavior and failed-post handling.
- Verify approval and account-access requirements with each network.
- Check analytics and team workflows separately from basic publishing.
Can every connected social account publish the same way?
Do not assume so. Account type, permissions and platform APIs need checking for the exact publishing action.
